Terry Buck Obituary

Terry L Buck age, 71 of Manitowoc was called to his heavenly home on April 15, 2023.  Terry was born on April 20, 1951, to Leonard and Donna (Kieselhorst) Buck and graduated from Valders High School in 1969.  Growing up on a small family farm he enjoyed raising the pigs and being part of the 4H Club.

On December 2nd, 1988, he married Barbara Cox at First Presbyterian Church.

Terry started his Heavy Equipment Operating career at Radandt and retired from Vinton Construction in 2007. He worked part-time at Manitowoc County Recycling during his retirement. He was a proud and a very talented Heavy Equipment Operator, he could even pick the dimes out of the dirt using the bucket on the excavator.  Terry had been in Local Operating Engineers 139 for 42 years, winning District D Operator of the year in 2005.  In his younger years during the winter months, he enjoyed logging.

Hobbies picked up along the way included woodworking, (his carpentry skills were magnificent), sausage making, canning, and trying new recipes in the kitchen.  He loved to share the food he made with family and friends.

He was very proud of his two grandchildren James & Layla and enjoyed every minute that was spent with them.  He loved to talk farm and animals with James and have tea parties with Layla.  He loved sharing stories about his grandkids and their adventures together.  They knew grandpa was there to help fix anything that they needed and would always have snacks on hand to give.  Terry also had a special place in his heart for his grand dog Lenny and would show pictures to anyone.

His daughter LeAnn takes after his great work ethic and was very proud of her & the life she’s created. He enjoyed sharing his hobbies with LeAnn. LeAnn and Terry had a special father and daughter bond.

Terry and his son-in-law Josh built a great friendship enjoying time together in the shop, at union meetings, and Sunday fry-outs.  They also had enjoyed many DIY projects together.

Terry had a heart of gold, always thinking of others, and would give great advice when needed and asked for. He has taught many along the way on how to operate machinery, be successful, and be a kind human being.

He is proceeded into heaven by his parents: Leonard & Donna Buck; father & mother-in-law: Paul E and Rosemary Cox; and brother-in-law: Terry Allen.
