Stanley Gotter Obituary

Stanley G. Gotter, age 78 of Manitowoc, died early Saturday morning October 16, 2021 at the Sharon S. Richardson Hospice in Sheboygan falls.

Stan was born on November 1, 1942 in Brillion, son of the late Edgar and Loretta (Laack) Gotter. He grew up in Brillion and while Stan was in middle school the family moved to Manitowoc. Following school, he joined the U.S. Army serving from 1960 until his Honorable Discharge in 1963. On November 14, 1970 Stan was married to the former Elaine J. Rosenthal at Immanuel Ev. Lutheran Church in Manitowoc. In the past, Stan had worked for Westtown Auto selling and detailing cars. He enjoyed antique cars and belonged to an antique car club. Stan enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren. He was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church of Manitowoc.

Survivors include his wife: Elaine Gotter, Manitowoc; one son and daughter-in-law: Anthony (Lauren Shearman) Gotter, Wellesley, MA; one daughter and son-in-law: Tina (Matthew) Michel, Neshkoro; seven grandchildren: Melissa (Kris) Harper, Michael (Laci Holmes) Dietzler, Michelle (David) Abreu, Jay, Jonna, Natalia, Sam; six great-grandchildren; one sister and brother-in-law: Debbie (Jim) Wochos, Two Rivers; two sisters-in-law and one brother-in-law: Lynne Degeneffe, Ashwaubenon, Marilyn Rosenthal, Gresham, Kevin Juul, Two Rivers; special close friend: Joe Hammersely, Manitowoc; fur buddy: Ginger, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends also survive. He was preceded in death by his parents; one grandson: Luke Mix; two sisters and three brothers-in-law: Wendy Juul, Connie (Dale) Augustine, Joe Degeneffe, Don Rosenthal.

A Memorial service will be held at 1:30 PM on Thursday, October 21, 2021 at the Jens Family Funeral Home & Crematory, 1122 South 8th Street, Manitowoc. Vicar Melissa Pagel will officiate. There will be no visitation prior to the Memorial service. Military Honors will be accorded by American Legion Drews-Bleser Post #88 of Manitowoc following the service at the funeral home. Upon completion of the Military Honors, relatives and friends are welcome to a luncheon at the All-Care Reception Center, 925 South 14th Street, Manitowoc.
