RoseAnn (Schnell) Lutzke

Our dear mother RoseAnn Lutzke, 83 of Manitowoc, passed away peacefully surrounded by her five children after a short courageous battle with cancer.  RoseAnn was born October 10, 1939, in Manitowoc, daughter of the late John and Lorena (Riesterer) Schnell. She was a graduate of St. Gregory’s High School.  On September 3, 1960, she married her high school sweetheart, Verlin Lutzke who preceded her in death on March 26, 2011.

She was blessed to be able to attend a wonderful family wedding the week before she passed.  Her family and friends all made a sincere effort to spend quality time to help her fulfill her bucket list.

Survivors include her five children—DeAnna Lutzke Dellger of Sheboygan, Michelle (Dale) Koeppen of Sheboygan, Suellen (Mark) Reiff of Whitelaw, Carla (Joe) Wallander of Green Bay, and Chad Lutzke of Sheboygan.  Posie’s grandchildren include Katie (Brandon) Martinez, Kora (Mike) Burant, Andrew (Lili) Goehring, Patrick (Stacy) Goehring, Emily Rose (John) Pozniak, Alex (Kelsey) Byrne and David (Lauren) Byrne.  Her great-grandchildren include Megyn Martinez, Kaitlynn Martinez, Gavin Goehring, McKenna Boeder, Tylah Sukowaty, Ryland Goehring, Finn Pozniak, Lucy Rose Pozniak, Stella Rose Byrne, Kieran Byrne, Liam Byrne, and Mia Byrne.

Further surviving are her sisters-in-law Bev Schnell and Karen Lutzke, and her brother-in-law Leon Lutzke, along with many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her three brothers, Leroy, Eugene “Putzy”, and Victor Schnell, her mother and father-in-law, Rita and Elton Lutzke, her sisters-in-law Lorraine Schnell, Olive Schnell, Karen Pankratz, Barb Lutzke and brother-in-law Elwin “Curly” Lutzke. 

The family would like to thank the compassionate care that Mom received from Dr. Mark (Bettag) and the Angels that cared for her at Sharon Richardson Hospice Center.  We also want to thank Teri, her home hospice nurse.  And finally, special thanks go to her Felician Village family for their kindness and friendship throughout the years.

Cremation has taken place at All Care Cremation Center in Manitowoc.  A memorial service will be held at 11:00 AM Saturday May 27, 2023, at the Lakeshore Family Funeral Home, Pfeffer Funeral Home location, 928 S. 14th St, Manitowoc.  Burial will take place at St. Gregory’s Catholic Cemetery at a later date.  The family will greet relatives and friends at the Funeral Home on Saturday May 27, 2023, from 9:00 AM until the time of service at 11:00 AM.
