Patricia “Pat" Valenta Obituary

Patricia “Pat” L. Valenta, age 78 of Maribel, passed away unexpectedly on Thursday, September 22, 2022 at her residence.

Pat was born on December 13, 1943 in Green Bay, daughter of the late Martin and Elsie (Fictum) Schweiner. She grew up in Denmark and was a 1962 graduate of Denmark High School. On October 9, 1965 Pat was married to Edwin “Ed” V. Valenta at All Saints Catholic Church in Denmark. In the past Pat and Ed were members of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Kellnersville and she drove students to St. Joseph’s Elementary School. The couple currently were members of St. James Catholic Church, Cooperstown. Pat pursued her love of gardening at home and at Natural Beauty greenhouse. Pat enjoyed helping arrange bus tours with Tours by Donna and Bay Bus. In the past Pat facilitated the SIDS Support Group and was a former member of the Green Bay Packer Packerettes. Pat was well known for her yearly 60 family rummage sale in a barn.

Survivors include her husband: Ed Valenta, Maribel; two sons and one daughter-in-law: Thomas (Dawn) Valenta, Denmark, Jeffrey Valenta, Combined Locks; one beloved granddaughter: Ashley Valenta, Denmark; two brothers and sisters-in-law: James (Karen) Schweiner, Freedom, Martin (Nancy) Schweiner Jr., Green Bay; one brother-in-law and sister-in-law: Lester (Delores) Valenta, Maribel, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends also survive. She was preceded in death by her parents: Martin and Elsie Schweiner Sr.; one infant son: Gary Valenta; her father-in-law and mother-in-law: Albert Valenta Sr. and Rose Valenta-Feit; her step-father-in-law: Frank Feit; four sisters and three brothers-in-law: Mary (John) Karbon Jr., Lilian (Paul) Kassner, Grace (Harold) Rosenbaum, Sr. Doris Schweiner; three sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law: Dorothy (Otmar) Rabas, Albert (Sharon) Valenta Jr., Lorraine (LeRoy) Skarivoda.

Relatives and friends may call at St. James Catholic Church, 18228 Cty Hwy R, Denmark (Cooperstown) on Tuesday, September 27, 2022 from 9:00 AM until 10:45 AM. Funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM. The Rev’s Santiago Turiano Jr. and Robert Fictum will concelebrate the Mass of Christian Burial. Pat’s celebration of life will continue with a lunch after mass. Burial to follow at 1:30 PM at St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery, Kellnersville.
