Orrin Allen Skattebo

Orrin Allen Skattebo, 86, of Manitowoc passed away on Monday, September 12, 2022 at the Manitowoc Health Rehabilitation Center with his family by his side.

Orrin was born on June 21, 1936 in Manitowoc County to the late Olvin and Sophie (Halderson) Skattebo. Orrin was skilled in many trades, retiring from Krueger Lumber as a truck driver. Orrin served his country in the United States Army in Fort Leonard Wood, Missouri in April of 1955, and then he was deployed to Korea. Orrin enjoyed hunting with this two sons, woodworking, and spending time with family and friends. He was always able to make people smile with his jokester personality. 

Orrin is survived by his two children: Ken (Margie) Skattebo, St. Nazianz, and Kevin (Melissa) Skattebo, Manitowoc; two grandsons: Hunter and Hayden; two granddaughters: Kimberly and Carrie; one step-granddaughter, Angela Hrnciar; three step great grandchildren: Devin, Kayla, and Hailey; siblings: Leo (Lyndoris) Skattebo, Lois LaFleur, and Glenn (Bonnie) Skattebo; special friend: Candy Handl; along with her children: Kelly Schultz, Casey, Heidi, and Amanda Handl; grandchildren: Leah, Amelia, Madeline, Alex, Zach, Tina, Simon, Oliver, Sophie, Macy, Rowen, Clara, Henry, Jackson, Daniel, and Charlotte; and great-grandchildren: Kalzen, Aniko, and Julianna. He is further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Orrin was preceded in death by his parents; one daughter: Penny Skattebo; siblings: Orley (Marilyn) Skattebo, Leon (Audrie) Skattebo, Helen (Elmer) Schanke, Doris (Howard) Gauger, and Marie Skattebo.

 A memorial service to celebrate Orrin’s life will be held at 12:30pm on Thursday, September 22, 2022 at Faith Lutheran Church, 255 Roosevelt St. Valders. Inurnment will take place at Valders West Cemetery with Military Honors. Relatives and friends may greet the family on Thursday, September 22, 2022 at the church from 10:00 am until 12:15 pm.
