Norbert Thomas Gallenberger, age 91 of Manitowoc, passed away Saturday afternoon, December 30, 2023 at the Hamilton Health in Two Rivers with his loving daughter at his side.
Norbert was born on March 6, 1932 in Kewaunee, son of the late John and Mary (Wergin) Gallenberger. He served in the United States Army from October of 1950 until his Honorable Discharge on October 1953 reaching the rank of Sargeant First Class. He married the former Joyce Marie DeBauch on March 12, 1952 while on leave from the U.S Army during the Korean War at Holy Rosary Church in Kewaunee. She preceded him in death on July 8, 2016. Norbert first met Joyce in the 6th grade. In their younger years the couple enjoyed dancing together while Joyce taught dancing for Arthur Murry Studios. While living in California the couple owned and operated Norb's Family Restaurant and Joy Ride Limousine Service. He enjoyed helping others and made friends everywhere he went. Also loved camping and traveling. Norbert’s family meant everything to him, he was a great husband, but most of all he was the best father ever, definitely one of a kind.
