Millicent "Millie" Jimenez Obituary

Millicent (Millie) Jimenez, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, April 16, 2024 at The Lodge at Whispering Pines in Plover, WI where she had been living since 2017. She was less than 2 months shy of her 105th birthday.

Millicent was born June 7, 1919 to Edward and Irene (Allie) Tome, in Two Rivers, WI. She graduated from Washington High School in 1937. After she graduated, she worked at Metalware, Kresge's, and the Loan and Investment Company.

Millicent was united in marriage with Joseph Jimenez on May 24, 1941 at St. Luke's Catholic Church, Two Rivers, WI. They were together for 64 years.

While Joe was in the Army Air Corps stationed at Keesler Field in Biloxi, MS, Millie worked on base as a clerk-typist. After Joe was discharged, they moved back to Two Rivers, where she got a job at The Hamilton Manufacturing Company in the personnel department, processing insurance claims. Millie was a member of the Knights of Columbus Ladies Auxiliary, the Ladies of Holy Redeemer, and St. Peter the Fisherman Catholic Church.

In her younger years, Millie was a girl scout leader and an accomplished seamstress. She was an avid Packer fan, and loved sitting in the sun, fireworks, dark chocolate, White Zin, and any type of dessert. Millie and Joe enjoyed dancing, especially to big band music. Joe played in the Two Rivers City Band for 60 years and Millie never missed a concert. Most recently, she enjoyed going to the Stevens Point City Band Concerts, Swing Doctors, and River Cities Jazz. Millie played the saxophone in high school and talked about it to anyone who would listen.

Millie loved her family including 2 daughters and sons-in-law Juan (Bob) Carron, Two Rivers and Julie (Barry) Benson, Plover and one son and daughter-in-law Jim (Bonnie) Jimenez, Two Rivers; two granddaughters Renee (Steve) Mueller, Two Rivers and Jill (Brian) Poyant, Florida; 3 great grandchildren Ryan (Violet) Mueller, Kyle Mueller, and Sydney (Richard) Briard. Special friends Mike and Anne Frederiksen and John Johnson also survive. They always made Mom smile!  She was preceded in death by her husband, Joe, in 2006, brothers and sisters-in-law Earl and Ceil Tome and Melvin and Ardel Tome, grandson Jay Jimenez, brother-in-law Edward Jimenez, and many other friends and relatives.

Funeral services for Millie will be held at 11 AM on May 1 at St. Bronislava Catholic Church in Plover, WI. Officiating at the Mass of Christian Burial will be Father Jeffrey Hennes. Internment will take place at Knollwood Mausoleum, Manitowoc at a later date. The family will greet visitors from 9:00 AM until the time of services.
