Mildred De Kok Obituary

Mildred De Kok, age 98, of Two Rivers, passed away December 19, 2022, at Hamilton Health Services, Two Rivers.

Mildred was born on August 5, 1924, in Whitney Point, New York, to the late Elmer and Dorothy (Hulick) Priegnitz. Mildred married Arnold A. De Kok on June 20, 1953, in New York City. Mildred and Arnold moved to Two Rivers shortly thereafter to be closer to family after attending a family funeral. He preceded her in death on February 21, 1998. Mildred was a Registered Nurse for 40 years until her retirement. Mildred, along with her husband Arnold, were active members of St. Luke's and St. Peter the Fisherman parishes for many years.

She is survived by three children: Laura A. Zigmunt, Two Rivers, Christian A. (Susan) De Kok, Two Rivers, André R. (Carmen) De Kok, Beloit; one step-daughter: Torhild (Gunther)Timm, Norway; nine grandchildren: Gretchen and family, Elizabeth and family, Kari and family, Edward and family, Emily and family, Huey and family, Gabrielle, Andrew, and Rebekkah; two step-grandchildren: Hannah Aas and family, Jan Erik Timm and family; three sisters-in-law: Andree Priegnitz, Texas, Henny De Kok, Netherlands, Micky Smit, Netherlands; nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends also survive. Mildred was preceded in death by her parents; husband: Arnold; infant son: John Christian; three brothers: Richard, Elmer, and John; twin sister: Frances; nephew: Peter; and brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law.

A memorial mass to celebrate Mildred’s life will be held on Tuesday, June 20, 2023 at St. Peter the Fisherman Catholic Church, 3201 Mishicot Rd., with Rev. Dave Pleier officiating. Relatives and friends may greet the family on Tuesday, June 20, 2023 at the church from 1:00 pm until the time of service at 2:00 pm. Burial of cremains will follow at Holy Cross Cemetery in Two Rivers.
