Michael Scott Blandin

Michael Scott Blandin, 73, of Manitowoc passed away on Saturday, February 18, 2023 at Manitowoc Health and Rehabilitation Center.

Mike was born on February 10, 1950 to Franklin and Beverly (Rieck) Blandin. He was a 1968 graduate of Lincoln High School and furthered his education at UW-Oshkosh, earning his Bachelor of Science Degree. On May 7, 1977 he married the former Kay Newberg. Mike worked for Vinton Construction, retiring after 25 years. He was a member of the Union Local 330 and Fraternal Order of the Eagles Aerie 706.

Mike enjoyed playing cards, fantasy sports, Brandy Old Fashions and good times spent at Green Street Food and Spirits. Most of all he loved and cherished his family.

Mike is survived by his wife: Kay; son: Brian (Jennifer) Blandin; two step-grandchildren: Alecia and Coltyn Falish; sister: Barb (Scott) Stangel; brothers: Kevin (Linda) Blandin, and Jeff Blandin; and sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law:  Judy Kasten, Daniel (Nancy) Newberg, Connie (Rick) Farr, and Tim (Kim) Newberg. He is further survived by one aunt: one uncle; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Mike was preceded in death by his parents: Franklin “Bud” and Beverly Blandin; parents-in-law: Kenneth and Cecelia Newberg; and one nephew: Paul Kasten.

Per his wishes, a private family funeral service will be held at a later date, with burial at Evergreen Cemetery.
