Mary A. (Compliment) Boncher

Mary A. Boncher, age 81 of Maribel, passed away peacefully with her family by her side on Thursday, January 19, 2023 at Aurora BayCare Medical Center in Green Bay.

The former Mary Compliment was born on August 2, 1941 in Muncie, Indiana daughter of the late Willard and Goldie (Greenwalt) Compliment. She grew up in Muncie Indiana and graduated in 1960 from Royerton High School. On October 5, 1963 Mary was married to Norbert C. Boncher Jr in Muncie, Indiana.  Mary lived a wonderful life with her husband of almost 60 years. Together Mary and Norb “Butch” raised three children on an 80 acre farm in Maribel.  Mary had a loving heart and compassion for people in need especially, children. Mary taught Sunday school and was a 4H leader.  Realizing a tremendous need for their community,  Mary and Norb welcomed into their home over 200 foster children as a receiving home for Manitowoc County.  Mary had a green thumb, tending to her many flower gardens and vegetable garden with Norb.  She worked at Natural Beauty Greenhouse for 10 years and made many lifelong friends.  In her spare time, Mary enjoyed doing wood crafts with Norb, baking, reading, making crafts for friends and family, and attending exercise classes at the YMCA. She loved her husband and family with all her heart, and was her grandchildren’s biggest fan attending many of their sports and music events.   

Survivors include her husband: Norbert Boncher, Maribel; three children: Lisa (Brian) Bosetski, Denmark, Timothy (Wendy) Boncher, Maribel, Laurie (Byron) Vielehr, Fox Point; five grandchildren: Brett Bosetski, Lindsey (Alex) Volk, Benjamin Bosetski and his fiancée: Samantha Bieganski, India Vielehr, Charles Vielehr; three step grandchildren and eleven step great-grandchildren; three sisters and two brothers-in-law: Janet (Don) Davis, Saginaw, MI, Judy Estep, Kokomo, IN, Marsha Compliment (Greg Mitchell), Indianapolis, IN; five brothers-in-law and five sisters-in-law: Joe (Mary Kay) Boncher, Scottsdale, AZ, Robert (Judy) Boncher, New Franken, Nadine (John) Nabielski, Green Bay, Fran (Karen) Boncher, Crivitz, Christine (Jeff) Freisen, Appleton, goddaughter: Noelle (Angel) Garcia and godson: Justin (Samantha) Boncher, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends also survive. She was preceded in death by her parents: Willard and Goldie Compliment; one brother-in-law: Paul Estep.

The family would like to thank the ER and ICU staff at Aurora Baycare Medical Center, especially RN Erin for her kindness and compassion during this difficult time.

Memorial service will be held on Saturday, February 18, 2023 at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 522 Tower Avenue, Kellnersville. Relatives and friends may call at the church on Saturday from 9:00 AM until the time of Mass at 11:00 AM. The Rev. Santiago Turiano Jr. will celebrate the Mass of Christian Burial.
