Lucille "Lucy" Duval Obituary

Lucille “Lucy” Jean Duval, 80, of Two Rivers died on Wednesday, September 7, 2022 at Sylvan Crossings.

Lucy was born on February 2, 1942 in Two Rivers to Theodore and Tillie (Schemenkowski) Burbey.  She was a graduate of Washington High School in Two Rivers. On June 24, 1961 she married Leland Duval. He preceded her in death on December 12, 2015.  Lucy was a dedicated and devoted wife, mom, and grandma.  She enjoyed meeting people over the years as she waitressed at Machut’s Supper Club.

Lucy was a member of St. Peter the Fisherman Catholic Parish, where she was a member of the Ladies of St. Peter the Fisherman. Over the years, Lucy was a volunteer at St. Vincent DePaul in Two Rivers. She enjoyed golfing, playing dartball, and bowling. She could dance a mean jitterbug and loved to polka and waltz. Lucy was a card playing enthusiast, earning the name “last card Lucy”, sheepshead, rummy and poker being some of her favorites. Lucy loved spending time with her family and friends, especially doting on her grandchildren, great grandchildren, and grand dogs.

Lucy is survived by her children: Carla (Todd) Benzschawel, Chris (Dale) Eslinger, and Cathy (Dean) Brunner; grandchildren: Eric (Carmen Castanos) Benzschawel, Andrea (Jeremy Dyck) Benzschawel, Ashley (fiancé Matt Becker) Eslinger, Heidi (Ray) Claudel, BritnyLe (Chris) Gosz, and Kassie (Patrick) Swetlik; great-grandchildren: Cole Claudel, Vienna Gosz, Voltaire Gosz, Voryn Gosz, and Valencia Gosz; sisters: Mary Ann Dufano, and Evie (Karl) Prien; brother-in-law: Allan (special friend Don Kuchenbecker) Duval; and sisters-in-law: Carol Schmitt, and Shirley Duval. She is further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Lucy was preceded in death by her parents; her husband: Lee; parents-in-law: Elmer and Evelyn Duval; infant brother; brothers-in-law and sister-in-law: Daniel Duval, Cleo (Joe) Mahlik, Don Schmitt, and Ray Dufano.

A funeral service to celebrate Lucy’s life will be held on Friday, September 16, 2022 at 11:00 am at St. Peter the Fisherman Catholic Parish, 3201 Mishicot Rd., with Rev. Dave Pleier officiating. Relatives and friends may greet the family at the church on Friday, September 16, 2022 from 9:30 am until the time of service at 11:00 am. Lucy will be laid to rest at Holy Cross Cemetery in Two Rivers.
