Lawrence Wanden Obituary

Lawrence L. Wanden, age 88 of Two Rivers passed away Sunday, December 25, 2022 at River’s Bend under the care of Sharon S. Richardson Hospice.

Lawrence was born January 12, 1934 in Tomahawk, son of the late John and Beatrice (Hudson) Wanden.  He was a graduate of Luther Wright High School, Ironwood with the Class of 1953.  Lawrence served in the U.S. Army from 1954 – 1956 in the Korean War.  He was united in marriage to the former Jane Muldowney on February 26, 1964 in Manitowoc.  She preceded him in death on April 29, 2017.

Larry worked at Hamilton Industries as a Cabinet Maker until his retirement.  He enjoyed fishing and hunting at Misfit Camp in Ironwood, MI. In his younger years, Larry enjoyed dart ball, bowling, playing cards and golf. Woodworking was his passion and he would try to build anything. Larry treasured spending time with his grandchildren.

Survivors include his children:  Lori Wanden, Two Rivers, Ann Heimes, (and special friend Steve Hansen) Two Rivers, Carol D’Aoust (and fiancé Randy Rocheleau) Two Rivers, Amy Wanden, Two Rivers. Five grandchildren: Michael (Monica) Heimes, Christopher Heimes (fiancé Alanna Dent), Eryn (Travis) Roethel, Alyssa D’Aoust, and Madison Cedano. Two great grandchildren: Alec Klein and Mayana Heimes and a great grand doggy, Bailey. Also surviving are two brothers Bill Wanden, of Puyallup Washington, and Tom Wanden (Sally) of Ironwood Michigan. Nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends also survive.  Lawrence was preceded in death by his parents John & Beatrice Wanden, his wife Jane Wanden, sisters Katherine Calbat, Gert Wells and one infant sister Evelyn Wanden. Son in law Jerry Heimes. Brothers, John Wanden and Robert Wanden and one infant grandson Sebastian Wanden. Sisters in law Delores Wanden, Katherine Wanden, Thora Wanden and Kathleen Adams. Brothers in law Lyle Wells, and Robert Muldowney.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, December 31, 2022 at St. Peter the Fisherman Catholic Church, Two Rivers.  Officiating at the Mass of Christian Burial will be the Rev. Richard Klingeisen with entombment to take place at Knollwood Mausoleum Chapel, town of Kossuth at a later date.

The family will greet relatives and friends at the church on Saturday, December 31, 2022 from 10:00 a.m. until the time of services at 11:00 a.m.
