June Marie (Arkens) Katzka

June Marie Katzka, 102, of Francis Creek passed away on Thursday, September 8, 2022 at Angelus Senior Living of Manitowoc.

June was born on June 26, 1920 in Green Bay to the late Raymond and Claire (D’aoust) Arkens. She is a graduate of Coleman High School, following graduation she attended Beauty School in Green Bay. On August 16, 1941 she married Marty Katzka. He preceded her in death on December 3, 2006. She was a member of St. Anne’s Catholic Church. June was an avid Wisconsin sports fan, especially the Packers, Badgers and Brewers. She enjoyed knitting, crocheting, and downhill skiing.  June cherished her family and loved attending her grandchildren’s sporting events.

She is survived by seven children: Richard (Joyce) Katzka, Francis Creek, Jean Hassemer, Mishicot, Joan Hutterer, Francis Creek, Cheryl (Ron) Basken, Francis Creek, Danny (Denise) Katzka, AZ, Dennis (Karen) Katzka, Francis Creek, and Kay (Todd) Kohlmeier, Francis Creek; 22 grandchildren; 48 great-grandchildren; nine great-great grandchildren: one sister-in-law: Gerry Arkens, Manitowoc; nieces, nephews, other relatives, friends, and 2 special cats also survive. June was preceded was in death by her parents: Raymond and Claire Arkens; husband: Marty; one grandson: Stevie Hutterer; two sons-in-law: Ralph Hassemer and John Hutterer; one brother: Merle “Bud” Arkens; sister and brother-in-law: Janet and Ken Weger; father-in-law and mother-in-law: Martin and Mary Katzka; she is further preceded in death by other brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law.

 A funeral service will be held at 11:00 am on Saturday, September 17, 2022 at St. Anne’s Catholic Church, 202 S. Packer Drive, Rev. Christian Raj will celebrate the Mass of Christian Burial. Burial will follow at the parish cemetery. Relatives and friends may greet the family on Saturday, September 17, 2022 at the church from 9:00 am until the time of service at 11:00 am.
