John Pfeifer Obituary

John A. Pfeifer, 83, a lifelong resident of Glenbeulah passed away on Thursday, September 8, 2022 at SSM Health St. Agnes Hospital in Fond du Lac.

John was born on September 6, 1939 in Sheboygan a son to the late Arno and Marie (Bassuener) Pfeifer.  He graduated from Glenbeulah High School in 1957.  He served in the National Guard during the Berlin Crisis.  On January 12, 1963 he was united in marriage to Myra Wentz at Zion Lutheran Church in Glenbeulah.  John worked with his father operating Arno Pfeifer, Inc. Feed Mill. Following the death of his father he continued to operate the mill which is now in its third generation with his sons operating it. He enjoyed gardening and landscaping and in his younger years, bowling.  John was willing to lend a hand whenever needed always putting others before himself. 

John was an active member of Zion Lutheran Church where he had served as an elder.  He served as a Village of Glenbeulah Trustee, a member of the Elkhart Lake-Glenbeulah School Board and the Wisconsin Agri Service Association. 

John is survived by his wife, Myra; four children, Barbara Pfeifer of Cedarburg, Wendy Pfeifer of Plymouth, Keith Pfeifer of Glenbeulah and Karl Pfeifer (special friend, Tina) of Glenbeulah; three grandchildren, Amanda (Mike) Flaminio, Adam (Taylor) Bocek and Alex Falk; two brothers, Alton (Judy) Pfeifer of Sheboygan and David Pfeifer of Elkhorn; a sister, Carol (Roger) Wordell of New Holstein; a sister-in-law, Virginia Pfeifer of Kiel and his godchildren, Todd Wordell, James John Schuette, Sara Woodward and Roger Zorn.  Nieces, nephews and other family further survive. He was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Alexis, his brothers, William and Daniel and a sister, Lenora Schuette.

A funeral service for John will be held 11 am Monday, September 12 at Zion Lutheran Church with Rev. Donald Johnson officiating and Rev. James Mallmann assisting.  Burial will follow in the Greenbush Cemetery.  Family and friends may greet the family at the church, 200 Main Street, Glenbeulah on Monday from 9 am until the time of service at 11 am

A memorial fund has been established in John’s name for Zion Lutheran Church are appreciated.

John’s family would like to express their gratitude and thanks to the staff of SSM Health and Villa Loretto in Mt. Calvary where he had resided the past few months.   A special thank you is extended to Dr. Karen Blindauer, Dr. Sarah Smith and Dr. Mercy Chandrasekaran for their comforting care.
