Janice Zipperer Obituary

Janice B. Zipperer, age 84, of Manitowoc, died Wednesday, September 14, 2022.

Janice was born August 6, 1938 in Iron Mountain, MI, daughter of the late John and Rosalie (Parlow) Hoffmann. She graduated from Lincoln High School with the class of 1957. On November 29, 1958, she married William Zipperer Jr. at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church in Maple Grove. He preceded her in death on February 23, 2007.

Janice worked for many years at Mirro Aluminum Company until her retirement. During her retirement, she worked at Culver’s for a number of years. She was a member of St. Francis of Assisi Parish. Janice enjoyed crafting, knitting, crocheting, and playing sheepshead with her friends at Regency House. She volunteered at the senior center and enjoyed watching the Packers, Brewers, and Badgers.

Janice is survived by her two children: Scott (Sharon) Zipperer, Newton, and Mary Ann (Paul) Meyer, Manitowoc, one daughter-in-law Debbie (Al) Allie, Two Rivers; eight grandchildren: Sean (Teresa) Zipperer, Plymouth, Seth (HaLeigh) Zipperer, Kiel, James Jacquart, Alexander Jacquart, Dawn Haney, and Andrew Haney, all of Manitowoc, Alicia (Adam) Koenig, Neenah, and Adam Zipperer, Two Rivers; eight great-grandchildren; one sister: Beverly Wittmus, Chilton; one brother: James Hoffmann, Francis Creek; and one sister-in-law: Sandy Zipperer, Two Rivers. She is further survived by other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents John and Rosalie Hoffmann, husband William Zipperer Jr., two sons: Gary Zipperer and William Zipperer III; one granddaughter: Brooke Zipperer; four brothers-in-law: Leroy Zipperer, Donald Zipperer, Butch Zipperer, and Gordy Wittmus; and three sisters-in-law: Bonnie Hoffmann, Pat Hayden, and Jane Zipperer.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 pm on Tuesday, September 20, 2022 at Calvary Mausoleum Chapel, 2601 S. 14th St, Manitowoc, with Deacon Alan Boeldt officiating. Relatives and friends may call at the chapel from 12:00 pm until the time of service at 1:00 pm. Janice will be laid to rest at Calvary Mausoleum.

In lieu of flowers, a memorial has been established in Janice’s name.
