James "Jim" Shoup Obituary

James R. Shoup,79, of Plymouth passed away on Friday, December 23, 2022 at Sharon S. Richardson Community Hospice in Sheboygan Falls.

Jim was born on November 16, 1943 in Sheboygan to the late Charles and Norma (Damrow) Shoup. Jim was a 1962 graduate of Sheboygan North High School. Shortly after graduation, Jim served his country in the United States Army. He served his tour of duty in Germany from 1962-1964; he then spent the next two years in the Army Reserves in Marshfield. Jim met and married Annabel Weinfurter on July 15, 1967 in Marshfield. After his deployment, Jim and Annabel moved to Sheboygan Falls, where they lived until they built a house in the Town of Rhine, between Elkhart Lake and Plymouth.  Jim worked for Tecumseh, Die Cast Division, in Sheboygan Falls for 35 years.

Jim enjoyed being outside listening to his tape player and enjoying a few beers in the garage.  His main passion was riding his motorcycle. He loved riding his Harley to Lake Winnebago, climbing the tower overlooking the lake, watching the boats coming and going, picking up a few pizzas and then heading home.  Jim also enjoyed taking his grandchildren to Lake Michigan and Lake Winnebago and walking his three miles around and stopping at Gerber Lake to see how many people were fishing. He fished Lake Winnebago with his fishing buddy, Robert Hawke Sr., for several years.

Jim is survived by his wife: Annabel Shoup; three children: Russell (Megan Krump) Shoup, Preston Shoup and Susan (Robert Jr.) Hawke; grandchildren: Dylan Shoup, Owen Shoup, Greg Berres, Sara Hawke, Sadie Hawke, Nathan Hawke, Olivia Wolfert, Ava Krump, and Lennon Krump; three sisters: Jeanice Kelly, Sandra Bernhardt, and Peg McKay; two brothers: Bill Arnst and John Arnst; and three brothers-in-law: Dale (Betty) Weinfurter, Jerry Weinfurter, and Marvin Weinfurter. He is further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Jim was preceded in death by his parents: Charles and Norma Shoup; an infant daughter: Deborah Shoup; and two brothers-in-law: Tom McKay, and Ralph Bernhardt.
