Hazel R. (Rocheleau) Kowalsky

Hazel R. Kowalsky, age 94, formerly of Two Rivers passed away on Thursday, April 11, 2024 at Care Partners of Appleton.

Hazel was born September 11, 1929 in Two Rivers, daughter of the late Leo and Helen (Phalen) Rocheleau.  She was a graduate of Washington High School with the Class of 1947.  On August 19, 1950 she was united in marriage to Robert J. Kowalsky at St. Mark’s Catholic Church, Two Rivers.  He preceded her in death on November 1, 2011.

Hazel and Robert were the owner/operators of H & R Home Improvement where they managed multiple properties and completed home renovations.

Hazel enjoyed sailing the Great Lakes with her beloved husband, as well as dancing, skiing, hunting and fishing. Hazel also loved to read. Hazel and Robert hosted many family gatherings “Up North.” Their many nieces and nephews will be forever grateful for the fond memories of swimming, fishing, campfires and catching fireflies.

Survivors include her three brothers:  Francis Rocheleau, Richard (Marie) Rocheleau and Louis (Barbara) Rocheleau; three sisters-in-law:  Mary Lou Rocheleau, Marlene Kowalsky and Joan Yuen; as well as several nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.  Hazel was preceded in death by her parents Leo & Helen Rocheleau, her husband Robert Kowalsky, a daughter Helen Louise Kowalsky, one sister Ethel Rocheleau, three brothers Leo (Phyllis), James (Ruth) and William Rocheleau and two brothers-in-law:  Tom Kowalsky and Jim Yuen.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, April 23, 2024 at St. Peter the Fisherman Catholic church, Two Rivers.  Officiating at the Mass of Christian Burial will be the Rev. Dave Pleier with burial to take place at Holy Cross Cemetery, Two Rivers at a later date.

The family will greet relatives and friends at the church on Tuesday, April 23, 2024 from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the services at 11:00 a.m.
