Gloria A. Kiesow

Gloria A. Kiesow, age 93, formerly of the Town of Liberty and currently of Manitowoc, passed away Saturday evening, September 4, 2021 at Holy Family Memorial Medical Center.

The former Gloria Ott, was born on March 14, 1928 in the Town of Liberty, daughter of the late Fred and Hilda (Mueller) Ott. She grew up on the family farm and attended Valders Schools.  On October 13, 1951 Gloria married Walter A. “Wally” Kiesow at Louis Corners, he preceded her in death on August 3, 2018. The couple owned and operated Wally’s Body Shop and Culvert Sales. Gloria enjoyed shopping and having parties with her family.  She enjoyed flower gardening, frosting cookies with the kids, making quilts for family members and the Christmas holidays. One of her favorite activities was getting her hair styled with Doris Wehausen and then going out for lunch. She was a member of Trinity Evangelical Church, Town of Liberty.

Survivors include: her eight children: Michael (Karen) Kiesow, St. Nazianz; Margie (Ronald) Hacker, Manitowoc; Mark (Darlene) Kiesow, Valders; Merrie Tapani, Michigan; Michelle Peterson, Manitowoc; Mardelle (Dale) Christel, Kiel; Mona (Karl) Hansen, Valders; Marty (Lisa) Kiesow, St. Nazianz; 15 grandchildren: Mike Kiesow, Jr. (special friend Stacey), Lisa Kiesow, Tanya (Patrick) Bennett, Tara (David) Mellstrom, Sean (Abbie) Hacker, Andrew (Jackie) Kiesow, Chad (Becky) Martell, Max (Andrea) Christel, Dana Christel, Alex (Brianna) Christel, Brooke Hansen, Breanna Hansen, Desirae Kiesow (special friend Darren), Joshua Kiesow, Benjamin Kiesow (special friend Kayla); 19 great-grandchildren: Alyssa (Sam), Havier, Sophia, Hayden, Mykenna, Marshall, Mikaela, Zetta, Isabella, Arya, Harrison, Dakota, Delaney, Lauren, Alexa, Adam, Levi, Beau, Briggs; one great-great-grandchild due later this year; one sister-in-law: Evelyn Gruendemann, West Bend; as well as nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.  Gloria was preceded in death by her parents: Fred and Hilda Ott; her husband: Wally Kiesow; one grandson: Kevin Kiesow; two great-grandchildren: Nicolle and Lindsay Mellstrom; one son-in-law: Gary Tapani; three brothers and one sister-in-law: Elroy Ott, Melvin Ott, Verna Ott, Arlet (Evelyn) Ott; one sister and brother-in-law: Anita (Norman) Gutknecht; two brothers-in-law and two sisters-in-law: Henry (Helen) Kiesow, Mary Ann Kiesow, Bill Gruendemann.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, September 13, 2021 at Trinity Ev. Lutheran Church, 11303 Wehausen Road, Manitowoc. The Rev. Gregory Pope will officiate with burial to follow in the church cemetery.  Relatives and friends may call on Monday at the church from 9:00 a.m. until the time of service at 11:00 a.m.
