Gerald "Jerry" Mauer Obituary

Gerald J. “Jerry” Mauer, age 72 of Two Rivers passed away on Saturday, December 17, 2022, at Froedtert Holy Family Medical Center.

Jerry was born on August 26, 1950, in Two Rivers, son of the late Kenneth and Alice (Filliez) Mauer. He was a graduate of Two Rivers Washington High School in 1968 and received an Associate’s Degree in Printing and Publishing from Milwaukee Area Technical College in 1970. On December 15, 1973, Jerry married the former Jolene (Bohne) Capraro at St. Luke Catholic Church in Two Rivers. The couple celebrated 49 years together. He retired from full time work at the Manitowoc Engraving Company in 2012 where he had been employed since 1987. After retirement he continued to work part time for many years. Jerry enjoyed hunting and fishing and was a member of the West Shore Sportsman’s Club and a lifetime member of Northeast Wisconsin Great Lakes Sports Fishing. He also was a member of the Master Printers of America. Jerry loved his dogs and was always ready for their hugs.

Survivors include his wife: Jolene Mauer, Two Rivers; one brother-in-law and two sisters-in-law: Larry (Lynn) Hansen, Two Rivers, Mary Mauer, Two Rivers; three nephews: Paul (Nancy) Hansen, McFarland, Daniel (Michelle) Hansen, Two Rivers, Kenneth (Jamie) Mauer, Appleton; two nieces: Jennifer Mauer, Francis Creek, Lisa (Dean) Wilinski, Green Bay; other relatives, family, and friends also survive. He was preceded in death by his parents Kenneth and Alice Mauer, and one brother: George Mauer.

Jerry was fortunate in his life to have many friends to celebrate his life with. Their loyalty, friendship, and help were so very appreciated and made his days at home more bearable.
