George W. Mauer

George W. Mauer, age 74, of Two Rivers, died Thursday, June 3, 2021 at his residence.

George was born on July 31,1946 in Two Rivers, son of the late Kenneth and Alice (Filliez) Mauer. He attended schools in Two Rivers graduating with the class of 1964 from Two Rivers Washington High School. On May 7, 1977 he married the former Mary Moore at St. Anne’s Catholic Church in Francis Creek. George was employed at Fisher Hamilton in Two Rivers for 46 years until his retirement in 2009. He was a member of St. Peter the Fisherman Catholic Church and a member and Union Steward of Local #1533.

Survivors include his wife: Mary Mauer, Two Rivers; three children: Lisa (Dean) Wilinski, Green Bay, Jennifer Mauer, Francis Creek, Kenneth (Jamie) Mauer, Appleton; three grandchildren: Gretchen, Alexa and Wyatt, all of Appleton; one brother and sister-in-law: Gerald (Jolene) Mauer, Two Rivers; two brothers-in-law and four sisters-in-law: Michael (Patricia) Moore, Valders, Gregory (Mary Jo) Moore, rural Whitelaw, Cecilia Moore and her significant other: Chuck Steffen, Francis Creek, Patricia Kattreh, Two Rivers, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends also survive. He was preceded in death by his parents: Kenneth and Alice Mauer; father-in-law and mother-in-law: Thomas and Beatrice Moore; one brother-in-law: Robert Weichert.

Memorial services will be held at 6:30 PM on Thursday, June 10, 2021 at the Klein & Stangel Funeral Home, 1420 22nd Street, Two Rivers. The Rev. Bill O’Brien will officiate. Relatives and friends may call at the funeral home on Thursday from 5:00 PM until the time of service at 6:30 PM.
