Donald Cigler Obituary

Donald J. Cigler, age 87 formerly of Maribel, and currently of Denmark died on Saturday evening, May 29, 2021 at Bellin Memorial Hospital in Green Bay.

Donald was born on September 5, 1933 in Maribel, son of the late Charles and Anna (Weber) Cigler. He grew up in Maribel and attended the Rosecrans School. Don served in the United States Army from September 5, 1956 in Korea with the 46th Utility Engineers at Camp Red Cloud, until his Honorable Discharge on July 1, 1958. Upon returning to the United States Donald worked for Zeman Construction, Schuette Redi-Mix, Harvey Redi-Mix and retired from Zeman Redi-Mix.

Don was a lifelong member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Kellnersville, 79-year member of Western Bohemian Fraternal Association Lodge No. 20, Melnik, the Maribel Sportsman Club where he volunteered his time, skills and energy making the club a success. Donald was honored by the Maribel Sportsman Club with a Special Achievement Award at the Manitowoc County Conservationist Hall of Fame Banquet. Donnie enjoyed fishing, hunting, going to auctions and was known to pick up items on the curb. Unfortunately, he was not able to take his treasures with him on August 23, 2014 when he moved into a senior home. He chose to have an auction of his many treasures and it was an enjoyable day for him.
